After the taking over of the investment management of Ardesia CLO Opportunity Fund from ISP Group, Swiss asset manager Valeur Group is aiming to grow the Fund. This is what Alessandro Noceti, Director of Valeur Capital Ltd and Valeur Securities SA, had to say with regards to the latest operation carried out by the financial firm. “Valeur already has a strong presence in the loan market, working with CIFC”, observed Alessandro Noceti: “We already have two loan funds with them in our platform. We really wanted to expand the structured credit business, so this was the perfect fit”.
As part of the operation, the firm also announced the hiring of Ron Zeltzer as Portfolio Manager of the Ardesia CLO Opportunity Fund, which he launched at ISP during the market turmoil of early 2020. As announced, the firm was involved in the Fund from the beginning, providing structuring services for the Fund within its Ardesia platform. It officially took over as investment manager on November 1, 2022, after the agreement reached with ISP Group, which remains an investor in the Fund.
“The idea is to expand the Fund as soon as possible by using our connections in the credit world and the loan space, where we have raised €150m over the last six years”, Alessandro Noceti said, while explaining that “the idea is to raise assets”. The Director of Valeur Capital Ltd and Valeur Securities SA also added that “CLO strategies are a very specific type of strategy, so it’s not like raising money for any credit fund. It requires a bit of time, but we are absolutely confident we will grow”.
