Aceros Arequipa, a Peruvian steel market-leader company, has expressed full satisfaction with the service and assistance provided by Danieli Service regarding the Danieli Condition Monitoring System (D-CMS) in operation at rolling mill #2 in Lima, Peru. The D-CMS produces 800,000 tons per year of plain and deformed bars with diameter ranging from 8mm to 32mm.
A patented system by Gruppo Danieli, the D-CMS is designed to monitor the condition of bearings and gears, and learn in advance about possible damages. Supported by Danieli Service experienced team, the customer’s maintenance staff checks any anomalies detected by the D-CMS. Every three months, Aceros Arequipa receives a comprehensive report from Danieli detailing the condition of each machine. As Gruppo Danieli stated in a press release, engineering, installation, and commissioning of the system took approximately one year from the time of order. Commissioning and training activities were conducted remotely.
Danieli also added that two new Condition Monitoring Systems will be provided at Aceros Arequipa. The first one is currently being installed at rolling mill #1, which produces 300,000 tons per year of high-carbon rounds and wire rod. The other one will be installed at the new Danieli rolling mill #3 in 2024. The rolling mill #3 is dedicated to producing 400,000 tons per year of rebar and small/medium profiles.
