Founded in 1994, Mac Autoadesivi, specializing in the production of adhesive tapes, has marked three decades of successful operation. Based in Capraia e Limite, a municipality in the metropolitan area of Florence, the company has gained global recognition and is the sole producer of adhesive tapes for packaging to achieve EMAS registration.
The company, led by founders Antonella Capaccioli and Carlo Gigante, along with their daughter Caroline Gigante and nephew Alessio Capaccioli, boasts approximately 70 employees and collaborators. It exports to over 35 countries, achieving a turnover of €32 million.
The company emerged as a vertical integration of Fralex, founded in 1987 by Antonella Capaccioli and Carlo Gigante, specializing in adhesive tapes for household, school, and office use.
Carlo Gigante, CEO of Fralex, reminisces about the company’s inception: “When Antonella and I founded our first company, we were just two young and courageous individuals with a wealth of ideas and entrepreneurial spirit. Starting from a small artisanal workshop for cutting and packaging adhesive tapes, Fralex was born. Our constant drive for innovation led us to invest in state-of-the-art technology, giving rise to Mac Autoadesivi”
The synergy between these two enterprises quickly positioned the Group as a European leader in the packaging sector. Significant investments in production capabilities, coupled with the establishment of an internal laboratory for quality control, research, and development, propelled the company’s growth. Further investments in production lines solidified its presence in international markets.
The CEO of Mac Autoadesivi, emphasizes the company’s commitment to social responsibility: “A company grows when all within it grow. In addition to bonuses to combat rising costs, we’ve invested in employee training and development, focusing on areas such as quality, environment, and safety”.
Looking forward, Alessio Capaccioli highlights sustainability as their immediate focus: “Our future is sustainability—both in terms of product innovation and corporate practices. We are committed to meeting this challenge head-on, leveraging opportunities that sustainability presents”.
Today, the company holds EMAS registration, demonstrating its commitment to environmental stewardship. It has also developed an integrated management system for Quality, Environment, and Safety, meeting international ISO standards.
Sustainability remains a cornerstone of the company’s ethos. “We were pioneers in our sector, creating environmentally friendly products free from harmful solvents”, adds Antonella Capaccioli. “What others deemed risky became our defining success”. As Mac Autoadesivi celebrates 30 years with its employees and collaborators, its dedication to innovation and sustainability continues to drive its success in the adhesive tape industry.
