Volkswagen recognized as the most innovative global automotive leader

Volkswagen Group has recently been honored as the most innovative automotive group worldwide, a prestigious accolade awarded by the Center for Automotive Management (CAM), a German organization based in Bergisch Gladbach. Since 2012, CAM has annually evaluated the technological strength and innovation capabilities of leading car manufacturers and suppliers globally, making this recognition a significant milestone in Volkswagen’s ongoing pursuit of technological excellence.

This year, among 30 international companies analyzed, Volkswagen Group achieved the highest score in the primary category of “Innovative Strength”, surpassing competitors from China and Europe. This distinction underscores the broad scope and high level of technological advancements developed by the group, particularly emphasizing innovations in electric mobility and connectivity, two critical sectors shaping the future of the automotive industry.

The recognition was not limited to the group level; individual brands within Volkswagen also garnered awards. Volkswagen was acknowledged as the most innovative volume brand, highlighting its commitment to integrating advanced technologies into mass-market vehicles. Meanwhile, Audi was honored as the most innovative premium brand, reflecting its leadership in luxury automotive innovation. These awards illustrate the brands’ ability to develop and deploy cutting-edge technological solutions that resonate with customer needs and expectations.

Oliver Blume, CEO of Volkswagen Group, expressed pride in the recognition, stating that being named the most innovative automotive group is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the organization’s talented teams. Blume emphasized that the success stems from a combination of renowned brands, advanced technologies, and close customer engagement. He reaffirmed the group’s strategic goal of continuing to deliver innovations that excite consumers and address the challenges of sustainable mobility.

The Automotive INNOVATIONS 2025 Award from CAM not only affirms Volkswagen’s position as a leader in automotive innovation but also serves as motivation to accelerate its technological and digital transformation. The company remains focused on advancing electric mobility and connectivity—areas where it has established a strong global position. Volkswagen’s commitment to innovation aligns with its vision of creating sustainable, connected, and intelligent mobility solutions for the future.
